I was chatting with a friend the other day who spends hundreds of dollars a month alone on stock photo solely for promoting content in social media. “Did you know that there are tools that allow you to use licensed stock photos for free if they are limited to social media?” I asked. My friend, not being social media savvy, did not know, and in fact very few of the social media marketers I know understand that this tool exists. It’s called MavSocial.
MavSocial is not a site to source stock photo images but a fully functional and mature enterprise-grade social media solution. It has all of the features you would expect, and some you might not, like their news feed targeting for Facebook Pages pictured below.
And, MavSocial handles Instagram posting with an app for iOS in addition to directly automating content for other top networks.
Now, there are LOTS of social media dashboards out there, so you’re probably wondering why you might want to change to a new one. MavSocial was developed specifically to become a visual social media marketing platform. Maybe having access to free stock photos is not important to other platforms, but for MavSocial and its visual approach, it is critical.
Being focused on the visual brings many advantages to MavSocial’s users, especially those managing multiple brands as part of a social media agency. Here are some of the main capabilities:
1. Store All of Your Digital Assets for Usage Inside MavSocial, not Another App
When you deal with multiple brands, each brand has their own digital assets that need to be used as part of campaigns. Many companies might enjoy creating intricate and complex directories on Trello, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Docs, but nothing compares with having those digital assets available to you inside your social media dashboard. MavSocial’s Digital Library is major time-saving feature.
Not only can your digital assets be organized into different folders based on brand inside the Digital Library, but they can also be tagged so that you can easily and quickly get organized as well as find the right visual that you need.
The Digital Library coordinates with other important features, including team and brand-based permissions as well as the ability to add stock images acquired through the platform.
Uploading your current images and tagging them for future use is easy to do as well. Below is a look at the granular detail you can add to each one of your images to make it easy to find and repurpose later:
Having a Digital Library with such well thought out folders and filtering at your fingertips (right inside your social media dashboard) will help streamline your marketing tremendously.
2. Get Access to and Edit Stock Photos Inside MavSocial, not Another App
As social media marketing becomes more visual, we as marketers need to become more and more visual too. Preparing images can be incredibly time consuming.
Why should we have to source images from one site, store them in a separate repository in another, and then use a different app to edit them? A social media agency needs to have an efficient operation, and fortunately MavSocial helps you do this by providing you all of these features right there inside their dashboard.
MavSocial has agreements with stock photo providers such as BigStock to allow its customers to use their photos for a nominal fee ($2.49) so long as they are limited to sharing in social media. They also offer images Pexels, Giphy, ImageAfter and Pixabay for free. You can choose from a total of more than 100 million images! This might be a money saver for some while for others allow you to improve upon the quality and/or selection of the visuals you end up using.
Should you wish to use an image for advertising or a blog post, it can be purchased outright as well, and all images that are sourced for free or for a fee come pre-tagged to allow you to take advantage of the digital asset inventory management features available.
When searching, you can filter search results by dimensions of photo such as horizontal, vertical, and square as well as search for audio and video in addition to static images.
What if you need to add text or a logo or crop your images? That’s easy to do inside MavSocial with the image editing feature that can be used on any visual asset. If you are a MailChimp user you will be used to the user interface for image editing, as MavSocial is plugging into the same 3rd party app Aviary to handle this functionality. With these stock photo and editing features, your creativity need not be restricted by spending time inside your social media dashboard.
3. Efficiently Curate Content Across Your Team
Content curation is best when it is a collaborative exercise between client and agency or by people within a team. MavSocial allows your extended team to easily and efficiently curate content to empower your social media marketing engine.
With MavSocial’s RSS Content Manager, you no longer need a separate RSS application or dedicated content curation platform to help you curate content. After adding the RSS feeds, the content manager allows you to curate content by searching for it visually, by keyword, or by category. Where many content curation programs just give you raw RSS feeds or only allow you to look by category, MavSocial truly makes it easy for you to find the exact content you are looking for.
4. Get Complete Control and Visibility into Your Campaigns
Social media agency clients will have two types of social media work: The monthly “infrastructure work” consisting of the editorial calendar, publishing, and monitoring, and campaign-based social media marketing, which focuses on specific calls-to-action that the brand wants to specifically amplify over a limited time period.
The challenge is not only just how to manage the creation of content for your social media campaign and schedule its publishing, but also how you can measure the performance of your social media campaign.
MavSocial was built with campaigns in mind and allows you create custom timeslots for each social network and not only schedule content posting but also easily repeat any strategic messaging that you might like to. MavSocial takes campaign creation one step further by tying in these campaign-specific posts into its reporting functionality: you can easily create campaign-specific reports! COOL!
Sometimes it’s the little things that matter in reporting, like simply being able to see how each of your digital assets performed in social. For every image in your Digital Library, you can review how many times it has been shared and liked.
This unique feature might be a godsend to your agency and allow you to easily find and repurpose high-performing visuals versus lesser performing ones.
For each campaign, you can break down insights even further by examining engagement on individual networks.
5. Stop Creating Inbox Tasks. Tag People Instead.
Task management is a critical component to social media management, especially as more social media users respond to more social media postings from more companies. Social media agencies need an efficient way for all important parties to be “tagged” on important conversations, but many social media dashboards make this difficult by forcing you to create a task for every single conversation you need to make others aware of.
MavSocial has streamlined this process by simply allowing you to tag anyone in your team on any given social message in your social inbox for their action. It is a simple yet eloquent way of managing social conversations across large teams that will surely increase your efficiency as well.
6. Precise Team-Based Permissions to Protect Your Clients and Your Agency
As your client numbers increase, so do the different brands, products, and campaigns you will be managing. This also means the people managing them will probably change as well over time. MavSocial developed its product with agencies in mind by giving you control over who gets access to which social network and which digital assets in the library on a one-to-one basis. Senior managers can approve posts by junior content creators before they are published, or you could use the post approval feature to allow clients to approve posts too. If your agency needs better control, your agency needs MavSocial.
