10 Tools to Help Get More Social Media Traffic

10-Tools-to-Help-Get-More-Social-Media-Traffic-V1 copy

In past blog posts, we’ve gone through tips on how to get more traffic from almost all major social networks – this month I’d like to share with you some of my favorite tools that can help you get more social media traffic more easily.

1. Triberr

If you keep a regular blog, I recommend you create an account with Triberr and use it regularly, and you can increase your Twitter traffic considerably. Triberr is basically a community where bloggers share their own blog posts  and read other bloggers’ blog posts as well – and this can lead to massive amounts of shares of your blogs posts. The best part of Triberr is that you’re not just going to get lots of shares, but you might also get shares from some of the greatest influencers from your niche, which can lead to an incredible boost of traffic.

2. Sharedby

Sharedby is a simple, yet highly effective tool that allows you to add an engagement bar to the top of any webpage you share online. Not only will this tool help you increase engagement, but it will also help you increase your traffic, as your engagement bar can feature links to your website, blog, or latest products.

3. AddThis

With AddThis you can add social media sharing, following and recommendation widgets easily. You can place them in several different locations on your website pages until you find what brings you the most traffic. Social sharing and following buttons are a must-have, as they will help you get more followers, more engagement, more reach and ultimately more traffic.

4. LinkedIn Share button

The LinkekIn share button deserves to be mentioned separately, as it can bring a lot of traffic to your website. When you post a new article on your blog, make sure to share it to LinkedIn via your sharing button for the blog post. When you click on it, you’ll see you’ll have the option to post the update to your LinkedIn groups. However, don’t abuse this power – make sure to only post the article in groups where you think the members will be interested in your article, as it offers value to them.

5. StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon is an amazing resource of traffic – in fact, it’s one of my top sources, and has been for years. This discovery tool helps you find great content – and perhaps more importantly, it helps other find your great content. Make sure to always stumble your latest articles, and to include a StumbleUpon Submit button to each of your articles.

6. Paper.li

Paper.li is a favorite of mine – this useful tool allows you to keep your audience interested by delivering relevant content to them via social media on a regular basis, in the form of an online paper. Use it regularly to deliver content from interesting voices in your niche, as well as from the top influencers. Many will appreciate the gesture, and might mention your blogs in their papers, or maybe they’ll simply notice you and your work, and will start sharing your updates with their own followers.

7. Wishpond

There’s nothing like a fun social media contest to boost your engagement and your traffic. Try Wishpond to create Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest contests and coupons, as well as create better social ads. You can use it to create all kinds of contests, such as photo and video, essay contest, sweepstakes, vote contests or even a music contest.

8. PostPlanner

PostPlanner is a useful Facebook tool with several interesting features. Firstly, you can use it to schedule recurring Facebook updates to all your Pages so that your updates are posted at just the right time to ensure maximum reach and therefore increase traffic as well. PostPlanner can also be used as a content curation tool, as well as a status-update idea machine. By using some of their status ideas and their scheduling feature, you will be able to reach more people which will lead to more engagement and more traffic in the long run.

9. Buffer

Buffer is a very useful tool that allows you to save a lot of time sharing every day. You can use it to schedule both your content and others’ content so that they are automatically posted throughout the day. This will help you bring more traffic to your website, as well as allow you to build relationships with others, since you are sharing their posts – meaning they will also share your content in return.

10. Traackr

One of the best ways to increase your social media traffic is to get influencers from your niche sharing your updates and posts. They usually reach a larger audience of engaged users who respect their opinion, which can lead to you getting more engagement and more traffic from them. Traackr is a tool that allows you to identify the best influencers for each one of your projects, for several different social networks, such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Not only will you be able to identify them and build relationships with them, but also get reporting on how they’re mentioning your business, your brand or even your competitors in real time. It’s a very useful tool that will help you build a better strategy and ultimately increase your traffic.

Great article! One thing not really covered here is the message that goes out when people share your content using a share button. Shares are free advertising, but only as good as the message they include.

There’s a new tool that helps with this…called NAYTEV – http://www.naytev.com. Lets you easily edit + A/B test your share button messages. It’s made for marketing people who need to drive more site traffic + engagement.

You can’t put all your eggs in posting via your organization’s social media account basket (top-down outreach)…you really need to also invest in getting people to share your content (bottom-up)…and making sure that what they share actually resonates.

Stock messages = lower engagement, referral traffic, and revenue. Better share messages make/break content virality.

How much traffic have you missed by not spending 5 min to work on your share message?

Very useful resources Lilach, I just sent your post to my social media manager and joined Triberr. Keep the good work. Do you have any tips for marketing self-published book?
